Henry Igba
He is a colourist and multi-talented contemporary visual artist,
with a special flair for impasto as a style of painting. He is a
graduate of the famous Auchi Polytechnic (Auchi Colourist School),
Edo State, and the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria, where
he specialised in Painting respectively.
This formal scholarly
exploration has not only deepened his creative ingenuity but has
further equipped him with the advanced creative communication skills
that transcend boundaries which is equally a pivotal tool in his
crusade of plummeting the hard times and proffering succour to
humanity via his Paintings.
His robust acquaintance with a
wide range of Materials and Methods has continued to deepen his
unwavering commitment to giving his Artistic Statement a visual
expression. Recently, he has been experimenting with Acrylic on
canvas. His body of works interrogates the dynamics and challenges
associated with human existence and by extension proffers
sustainable trajectories as a panacea for better living. This
philosophy resonates with his works.
He is widely exhibited
with a span of twenty-six years of commitment to studio practice He
is an integral member of Auchi Art Royale (AAR) - Auchi Klass 99'
and an active member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), Lagos
Chapter.
