Gabby Okorare
GABBY OKORARE--was born in 1951 at Ovu inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area, in the Oil rich Niger Delta region, of Delta State, Nigeria.
Attended the famous Okotie--Eboh grammar school, Sapele, Delta State, Nigeria. 1965--1969.
He had his formal Art training at the foremost Art and Design School of the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba Lagos, under the great master Professor Yusuf Grillo (1970--1975). Graduating in Fine Art 1975.
Later attended the famous University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos Nigeria ( Post graduate Diploma in Education (.PGDE 1980)
Nigerian Institute of Journalism in Ogba, Ikeja lagos state, Nigeria. (Diploma certificates in Advertising and Public Relations.( 1990--1992).
He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR). Member Society of Nigerian Artists SNA).
Taught Fine Art at famous Igbobi College Yaba, lagos, Nigeria. 1975--79
He has been a practising Full--Time studio master over 50 years. His studio/Art gallery connected to where he stays in Isheri-Oshun, lagos.
His practice reflects decades of committed engagement with Nigerian's evolving socio-political landscape. Held solo/group exhibition both in Nigeria and abroad. Many of his works with private collectors, art enthusiasts, Art lovers, Government, private institutions and galleries.
